QBO File Checker for QuickBooks Import Problems

QuickBooks Web Connect files can fail with vague messages even when the transactions look normal. A QBO file is OFX-derived, so both general OFX structure and QuickBooks-specific institution mapping can break the import.

Common QBO import blockers

  • Missing or unsupported INTU.BID institution identifiers
  • Bank or card account fields that do not match the destination account
  • Malformed OFX headers, tags, or transaction sections
  • Duplicate FITID values that QuickBooks treats as already imported
  • Unexpected date, currency, or amount formatting

Diagnosis now, bounded repair later

The public checker currently diagnoses file-level QBO problems; it does not deliver a repaired file. Backend support exists for selected mechanical OFX-family corrections, but it does not configure QuickBooks, administer bank feeds, correct provider exports, or guarantee QuickBooks acceptance.
