QFX File Checker for Quicken Import Problems
QFX imports often fail because the file is almost valid but not acceptable to Quicken. Institution identifiers, account mapping, and OFX-family formatting details can decide whether the import succeeds.
Common QFX import blockers
- Financial-institution identifiers that Quicken does not recognize
- Account IDs, account type, or routing fields that do not match the Quicken account
- Malformed OFX/QFX tag structure
- Duplicate
FITIDvalues or regenerated files with unstable transaction IDs - Encoding, currency, amount, or date formatting problems
Diagnosis now, bounded repair later
The public checker currently diagnoses file-level QFX problems; it does not deliver a repaired file. Backend support exists for selected mechanical OFX-family corrections, but it does not administer a Quicken account, change institution support, correct provider exports, or guarantee Quicken acceptance.
